Preparing Our Business and Employees for Re-Entering the Workplace

Many businesses are beginning to reopen their doors and allow employees to come back to work after closure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. While this is good news, we know that many changes must be made to continue to protect RFA customers and employees.

The Steps We’re Taking to Protect Our Customers & Employees

As a business and employer, it’s our responsibility to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 within the workplace. Beyond coordinating with our state and local health officials, we’re also following CDC guidance to prepare our workplace and business for reopening. The safety measures we’re implementing are below.

1. Preparing Our Workplace

We’re taking the necessary steps to prepare a safe workplace for our employees and customers. For example, cleaning and disinfecting regularly throughout the day. We’re also creating space for our employees to social distance while at work and restricting the use of shared items (such as keyboards) or spaces.

2. Encouraging Sick Employees to Stay Home

Employees who have symptoms or those who simply feel sick are encouraged to stay home until the criteria to discontinue home isolation are met based on the advice of healthcare providers.

Those with family members with COVID-19 at home are asked to contact us and follow the necessary precautions. To help reduce the presence of COVID-19 symptoms, we’re conducting daily in-person or virtual health checks before employees enter our facility.

3. Quickly Identifying Where and How Exposure May Occur

We’re taking the time to identify risks and remove them. We’re also supplying the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) required for employees to do their jobs and encouraging employees to wear face coverings.

4. Educating Our Employees

We’re continuing to educate our employees on the spread of COVID-19 and their responsibilities. For example, we’re sharing the importance of staying home while sick, washing their hands frequently, avoiding touching their face and cleaning on a routine basis.

5. Implementing Supportive Policies

We have added flexible work from home policies, and a sick leave policy which encourages employees to stay home while sick.

6. Maintaining a Healthy Work Environment

We don’t yet know how long COVID-19 will stick around. That’s why we’re doing what it takes to maintain a healthy work environment for the long term by revisiting how we carry out daily business, meetings and more. We plan to continue with routine cleaning and limit business travel to only what’s essential.

We routinely check the CDC COVID-19 website for new guidance as knowledge about the coronavirus evolves.

RFA Engineering Cares for Our Employees and Customers

As we all move forward into our new normal, we must remember what can be replaced and what cannot. RFA cares for our employees, their families and our customers. We’ll continue to take every precaution to protect them to the best of our abilities. We continuously look for new guidance from the CDC and want to inspire you to do the same.
