RFA Engineering received some good news recently. A longstanding business partner John Deere recognized us for our dedication to providing products and services of outstanding quality, as well as our commitment to continuous improvement. RFA Engineering employees accepted the recognition during a formal ceremony held in April 2018, in Bettendorf, Iowa.
John Deere recognized us in three different ways:
- Partner-Level Supplier: We earned recognition as a partner-level supplier for the fifth consecutive year. Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating.
- Hall of Fame Supplier: John Deere awards Hall of Fame status to suppliers that attain a partner-level rating for five consecutive years.
- Supplier of the Year: We were recognized as the supplier of the year in the Enterprise Supply Management division of the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program.
RFA and John Deere: A Relationship Spanning Years
For years, we have supplied engineering services to John Deere’s operations and subsidiaries at 12 locations throughout the United States, including Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, North Carolina and Wisconsin. Our engineers have assisted with things like new product design and development, electrical control system integration, schematic and harness design, redesign of existing products, cost reduction, problem-solving, concept, and analysis.
The Achieving Excellence Process
Achieving Excellence (AE) is a dynamic supply management strategy implemented by John Deere. It provides a framework for the company and its suppliers to follow, so we can work together to pursue a shared vision. The process begins with goal setting. Then, the supplier sets to work. The process continues with feedback, adjustment and improvement. As we meet our goals, the process continues with recognition.
John Deere gives Supplier of the Year awards to Partner-level suppliers who demonstrate exceptional performance in meeting AE goals. It gives Hall of Fame awards to suppliers who maintain Partner-level classification for five consecutive years.
